Your body is smarter than any diet on the earth, but can be difficult to know what our body is telling us especially with so much information all around us.Here is the secret to the simplest weight loss system there is…Follow these four golden rules. These small habits can make a BIG difference.
Golden rule #1:Eat when you are hungry.
Inside a camels hump is fat. They store it because they don’t know when they will eat again. When you restrict food to try to lose weight your body also stores fat like a camel. It goes into survival mode and stores fat. When you eat just because it’s dinner time but you’re not actually hungry your body will grab that fat and store it for later. Fat collects in the stomach for men and the hips and thighs for women. When your body is at it’s natural weight that it wants to be at, you will naturally eat enough you won’t starve yourself or over eat, so your body will start to eliminate fat. Not eating when you’re hungry leads to Nero- chemical changes in the brain that lead to cravings, binge eating, and over eating. It becomes a vicious cycle.
There is good news-
All you need to do is eat when you were truly hungry, which meansAll you need to do is eat when you were truly hungry, which means when your stomach is growling, or it’s been 4 to 5 hours in between a meal. If you are hungry all the time or not very often it is usually emotional not physical. Once you really listen to your body you will start to wrap when your stomach is growling, or it’s been 4 to 5 hours in between a meal. If you are hungry all the time or not very often it is usually emotional not physical. Once you really listen to your body you will start to recognize your true hunger signals. Use a hunger scale from 1 to 10 one being faint and 10 being nauseous.recognize your true hunger signals. Use a hunger scale from 1 to 10 one being faint and 10 being nauseous. You want to be around three or four and fairly hungry. When you forget to eat you become ravenous.
Golden rule # 2: Eat what you want not what you think you should eat.
When you tell yourself not to eat a certain food you instantly want those foods even more than if you had just allowed yourself to have some in the first place. As you begin to make peace with food and learn to listen to your body you experience freedom from guilt. This is why there is no food off-limits and no such thing as good foods or bad foods. Just make sure what you eat what you love and enjoy it .You will experience freedom from guilt.
Golden rule # 3: Eat consciously and enjoy every mouthful.
When we eat we release a chemical in our brains called serotonin. When you are overweight you eat so fast you get a serotonin high. Because you eat unconsciously you don’t recognize the signal from the stomach that you are are full, so you keep eating, expanding your stomachs and continuously gaining weight, you get a serotonin high.
Then they feel fat and guilty afterwards. They repeat the cycle over and over again to cover the bad feelings that they just created. It becomes a vicious cycle.
Enjoy your food, savour the taste, texture and sensations. Slow down and enjoy the food, smell, taste, and chew. For the next two weeks slow down your eating speed down to a quarter of what it usually is by chewing each mouthful thoroughly and by putting the knife and fork down in between bites. Stop eating in front of the TV while reading, or chatting on the phone. Distracted eating equals over eating.
Golden rule # 4: When you think you are a full stop eating
Many of us were taught to finish everything on their plate, even if we were full. We all have an inner thermostat that says we can stop eating when we are full and feel good the rest of the day. You need to work with your body, not against it. When you eat slower, your bodies full signal is noticeable sooner. When you are full you will notice that each bite becomes less enjoyable than the ones before. The more you pay attention the more obvious it becomes. If you miss this you will start to notice discomfort and then you should stop eating even if there is food left on your plate.Your bodies full signal is noticeable sooner. You may be so used to not being in tune with your body’s hunger or full signals because you have ignored them for so long, this is when you use the hunger scale. Stop eating at around six or seven on the scale that is where you’re pleasantly full but not stuffed. Been at an eight means your stuffed been at a nine means you’re probably getting bloated and being a 10 you’re feeling nauseated.
Follow these four rules and you will be on your way to losing weight and keeping it off. If you change only one thing let it be this:
